Biggest Nation of Africa Welcomes it’s First Bitcoin ATM

Coming as a positive development in the cryptosphere, Nigeria, which is the largest country of African continent, has welcomed its first BTC ATM. The company that fitted the ATM in the Dazey Lounge and Bar in Lagos state, Blockstale BTM is mulling over launching over thirty more ATMs across Nigeria.

Daniel Adekunle, the chief executive and founder of Blockstale, told local media, “Despite all the legal uncertainties about cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, Nigerians happen to be the highest crypto traders in Africa.”

The founder of the startup developed the BTC ATMs in partnership with a tech establishment based in China.

Regardless of being home to the highest crypto trade volume in Africa, Nigeria is the 8th nation in the continent to host a BTC ATM. Notably, Blockstale’s installed ATM is the fifteenth ever crypto ATM installed in Africa.

With Nigeria encompassing Africa’s chief economy and population, the nation’s 1st Bitcoin ATM may be a marker for comprehensive espousal across the continent. It is to be noted that Nigeria unswervingly tops Google searches for the term ‘Bitcoin’. As per Google Trends, the nation is driving approximately double the traffic as compared to the 2nd ranked country, Austria.
