South Korean Bitcoin Exchanges Allegedly Assisting Police In Investigating Child Pornography

Coming as the latest development in the cryptosphere, major South Korean Bitcoin exchanges are purportedly helping local authorities in the inquiry of the so-called “nth rooms” case that has seized headlines countrywide.

As per the report published by Chainnews, the aforementioned exchanges include Bithumb, Upbit, Korbit, and Coinone. These exchanges are allegedly working together with the local police in an effort to divulge the individuality of those involved in the child porn infamy.

The South Korean police department had mentioned that about ten thousand individuals had joined the Telegram groups through which the pornographic material was disseminated.

Even though it has not been possible to quantify precisely, local authorities mention that several members paid about twelve hundred USD in digital assets for gaining access to child porn.

It is to be noted that over two million Koreans assisted in divulging the identity of twenty four year old Cho Joo-bin. He led the extorting network whose sitting targets were both boys and girls.

Sadly, a number of minor girls have become sufferers of the child-pornographic online ring. Till now, the police claimed that seventy-four people were victims of the crimes. Sixteen among them are minor girls.
