Canadian asset management company 3iQ has announced that it submitted a preliminary prospectus to the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) for the launch of an exchange-traded product (ETP) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX).
If approved, this fund will become the first publicly traded Solana ETP in North America.
On June 20, 3iQ Corp. posted on X (formerly Twitter) that it had submitted a preliminary prospectus for the Canadian Solana Fund (QSOL) initial public offering.
Greg Benhaim, 3iQ’s Executive Vice President and Head of Trading, stated in a press release: “3iQ is committed to setting global standards of excellence, and we are proud to work closely with the OSC to responsibly enhance Canada’s digital asset investment landscape.”
The Solana Fund, if approved by the OSC, will trade under the ticker symbol “QSOL” and aims to provide investment opportunities in SOL. Additionally, the fund seeks to offer long-term capital appreciation and staking rewards generated by the Solana network.
As the investment manager and portfolio manager for QSOL, 3iQ will oversee the fund’s operations. Canaccord Genuity serves as the agent for the offering, with Tetra Trust and Coinbase Custody Trust Company, LLC acting as custodians. Coinbase Custody’s institutional staking infrastructure will support SOL staking within the Solana Fund.
Founded in 2012, 3iQ has become a global leader in digital asset investment fund management, providing investors with convenient access to digital assets.
The company launched Canada’s first publicly traded Bitcoin Fund (QBTC) and Ether Fund (QETH). Additionally, the Ether Fund and 3iQ Ether Staking ETF (ETHQ) were the first ETPs in North America to include staking ether as part of their investment strategies.
In their press release, 3iQ emphasized their mission to deliver regulated investment tools, uphold the highest standards, and collaborate with top-tier partners to enable individuals and institutional investors to efficiently access the growing crypto asset class.
