Budweiser Launches Scoreboard NFTs, Collaborates With FIFA World Cup

Budweiser, the renowned American beer brand, in collaboration with the world football governing body FIFA has presented an exciting way for football fans to engage themselves in the world cup as it launches the “Budverse x FIFA World Cup”.

As per a recent tweet by the beer brand, Budverse x FIFA World Cup will feature a unique digital scoreboard. The non fungible tokens are now live and can be bought and minted up until 18th December at Budweiser.com/nft.

Notably, the release of the NFTs continues a partnership between Budweiser and FIFA that has spanned over thirty years.

With the non fungible tokens, the holders can select a team of their choice participating in the world cup, represent the team, and follow the preferred team’s journey through the world cup in real-time.

Earlier this year, FIFA tapped Algorand as its official blockchain partner. The partnership was suggestive of the football governing body’s commitment to exploring innovative channels for sustainable revenue increase. The aforementioned partnership officially marked FIFA’s arrival into the world of blockchain.

Subsequent to its partnership with Algorand, the world football governing body launched FIFA+ Collect in preparation for the world cup. Interestingly, the non fungible token collection which will capture memorable moments during the world cup was built on the Algorand blockchain.
