KakaoTalk, the South Korea based chat app has initiated its much-awaited digital asset wallet dubbed Klip. The app is offering instantaneous access to eleven virtual currencies and Non-Fungible Tokens.
The cryptocurrency wallet is compatible with the Klay token, which is the native token of Kakao’s blockchain network dubbed Klaytn. It is also providing access to ten other cryptocurrencies, issued by present Klaytn partners.
According to a Kakao blog post, the company claims that the crypto wallet is also compatible with several Non-Fungible Tokens.
Notably, the chat app claims to have over forty-five million monthly active users in South Korea, with around five million overseas users. The aforementioned wallet, dubbed klip, can be accessed by means of a tab in the KakaoTalk interface.
Presently, the feature is only offered to South Korean users. The company mentioned,
“In the second half of the year, Klip will be directly connected to Klaytn-based blockchain applications and following that, a native mobile application of Klip will become available to provide a seamless digital wallet service to users all over the world.”
