Facebook’s Libra Changing Its Name To Diem, Unveils New Logo

As per a press release posted recently, the Libra Association is moving its name to the Diem Association. The project is of the opinion that a new name will aid individuals the mass regulatory panic that overwhelmed Libra’s original announcement.

It is to be noted that the new name makes use of the Latin word for “day,” best identified in the saying, “Carpe diem.” The Association’s press release upon the announcement refers indirectly to the requirement to transform the narrative on the project. In the announcement, the team mentioned,

“Now transitioning to the name ‘Diem’, which denotes a new day for the project, the Diem Association will continue to pursue a mission of building a safe, secure and compliant payment system that empowers people and businesses around the world.”

In its declaration, the Diem Association divulged its new logo, which has retained the purple theme, three horizontal swirls and lower-case brand of the original Libra.

Diem Association CEO, Stuart Levey mentioned,

“We are excited to introduce Diem — a new name that signals the project’s growing maturity and independence.”

As mentioned earlier, the Libra Association has been at pains to appease regulators over the bulk of the past eighteen months. The recent statement highlights a series of hires who have come on board having profound experience with regulators in the United States and other nations.
