German Authorities Seize Thirty Million USD Worth Of Bitcoin And Bitcoin Cash

German authorities have seized around thirty million USD worth of Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash from supposed operators of a pirate streaming website. The authorities took the help of the FBI to catch the culprits and seize the amount.

The law enforcement agencies have seized the crypto from 2 individuals ostensibly running a big pirate streaming website dubbed Movie2K.

Regardless of its significant popularity, the website got taken down without any notification, and doubt arose of legal burden. Nevertheless, no additional information came to light for years until the Attorney General’s Office in Dresden divulged last year that the culprits purportedly operating the website had been detained.

The Dresden General Prosecutor’s office recently published an announcement asserting that the 2 culprits had remained in detention since then.

Notably, the pirate streaming website started functioning in 2008 and was up until 2013. During that period, Movie2K purportedly disseminated approximately nine hundred thousand copies of movies and TV shows. Its fame increased speedily, and prior to its closure in 2013, it was the nineteenth most visited website in Germany and its global ranking was two hundred and forty. At the time, the site received more visitors as compared to Apple, Twitter, and Amazon.
