Nik Bougalis, Ripple Labs’ director of engineering, is exiting the firm after around ten years, becoming the latest of digital asset domain’s long-time serving executives to depart from the space.
In a 22nd October tweet, Bougalis mentioned,
“My decade-long journey at Ripple has been a fantastic (if exhausting and all-consuming) one. I got to work on a project that I love, towards a goal I believe in. But that journey will be coming to an end in a few weeks.”
Interestingly, the Ripple developer underlined that he will not be joining a blockchain project or organization next.
He mentioned,
“As for what’s next? I’ll talk about it when it’s time, but I am NOT joining another blockchain project/company, nor am I doing NFTs or DeFi.”
On 21st October, Polkadot co-founder Gavin Wood also called a culmination to his time at blockchain infrastructure firm Parity Technologies, mentioning that it was not a position where he saw himself finding “eternal happiness.”
Other high-profile executives that followed the same route over the last couple of months include Kraken CEO Jesse Powell, FTX US president Brett Harrison, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor and Genesis Trading chief executive officer Michael Moro.
