Sandbox Collaborates With World of Women To Boost Female Education

The Sandbox metaverse declared its partnership with the NFT community, World of Women, to launch the WoW Foundation. A twenty five million dollars grant from The Sandbox will aid in funding the foundation over the upcoming 5 years. The mission of the World of Women foundation is to step up female representation in the NFT and metaverse domains.

As a collection of “diverse and powerful” women sold on the Ethereum blockchain, World of Women mentioned that they aim to decrease the barrier to entry for women in Web3.

The announcement mentioned,

“Our mission is to highlight and lift up as many female and underserved creators as possible, making the metaverse not just a landscape designed by men but rather one enriched with as much diversity of thought as possible.”

The mission has 4 key pillars. These include uplifting the ecosystem by supporting artists and funding projects, educating newcomers, giving more visibility to women-centric causes and giving back to charities. With the help of Sandbox’s grant, it also plans to support creators’ journeys in Web3, from mentoring and funding their 1st mint to their 1st sale.

Presently, both Sandbox and World of Women rank within the top twenty collections of all time in terms of trading volume on OpenSea. At the time of publication, World of Women had traded fifty five thousand three hundred Ethereum tokens (approximately 142.7 Million USD), while The SandBox traded a volume of 156,200 ETH (around 403.2 Million USD).
