One of the largest payment processors in the world, Stripe recently declared that businesses will be able to convert any amount of payments into BTC.
The functionality comes through a partnership with OpenNode, Bitcoin Lightning Network infrastructure provider, through Stripe’s new app marketplace. Stripe simultaneously declared the launch of its app marketplace which permits custom user interfaces to integrate with Stripes global customer base.
Users will be able to convert fiat payments into bitcoin in real time, through the OpenNode app located in Stripe’s app marketplace. Businesses can set an automatic amount of their payments to be converted into BTC, or they will be able to manually convert any amount into BTC they desire.
Furthermore, businesses will be able to view their BTC wallets and conversion rates at a glance within the app.
It is to be noted that developers can begin building apps that will support Stripe integrations using Stripe’s open application programmable interface. Billing for applications will be reasonably straightforward for firms looking to build on Stripe as the organization mentioned Stripe apps do not presently offer billing for apps. Nevertheless, apps can either be free or paid for but businesses will be required to handle their billing outside of the marketplace at launch.
