Triumvirate of AI Innovators Forge Superintelligence Syndicate

In a landmark collaboration, SingularityNET (SNET), Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol have unveiled the formation of the Artificial Superintelligence Syndicate. This alliance, announced in ZUG, Switzerland, and Singapore, represents the fusion of the world’s pioneering decentralized Artificial Intelligence (AI) network, a cutting-edge Web3 platform for the burgeoning AI economy, and a trailblazing decentralized data exchange platform designed to safeguard data.

This consortium has emerged as the brainchild of three vanguards of decentralized AI. Dr. Ben Goertzel, often hailed as the “Father of AGI”, established SNET to serve as a blockchain-powered marketplace and infrastructure for AI services. Humayun Sheikh, an original investor in DeepMind, launched Fetch.ai to act as a decentralized multi-agent system for the deployment and monetization of AI technologies. Trent McConaghy, the creator of AI software instrumental in advancing Moore’s Law, initiated Ocean Protocol to facilitate data sharing and the fluid exchange of tokenized data assets.

In a strategic move, the Alliance will consolidate the $FET, $OCEAN, and $AGIX tokens—integral to the operations of the three networks—into a singular $ASI token. This unified token will operate within the expansive decentralized AI network, offering an unparalleled level of scale and capability.

Architecting the Apex of AI

In the midst of an escalating AI revolution, Dr. Ben Goertzel, CEO and Founder of SNET, stresses the importance of keeping AGI and ASI out of the hands of any one entity with vested interests. “As the AI revolution intensifies it is imperative that AGI and ASI are not owned and controlled by any particular party with their own biased interests,” he notes. He advocates for a rollout that is open, democratic, and decentralized—a vision shared by SNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol since their beginnings. This shared perspective has culminated in the formation of a tokenomic network with the robust capability to challenge Big Tech and reorient the AI landscape towards a decentralized ecosystem.

Humayun Sheikh, CEO & Founder of Fetch.ai, observes the current AI innovation landscape, where Big Tech behemoths loom large. “In a world of exponential AI innovation, the giants of Big Tech dominate the headlines and conversation,’” he says. Sheikh outlines a divergent trajectory, aiming to merge tokens to unify platforms under the banner of ethical and transparent AI. This strategy is designed to enable direct developer-user interactions, bypassing centralized gatekeepers, thus enhancing data privacy and fostering a more democratic and trustworthy AI ecosystem that invites global contributions.

Navigating the New Frontier

The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance will establish a governing council to oversee the operations of the newly merged tokenomic network following the token merger. The Alliance’s leadership will comprise Ben Goertzel, Humayun Sheikh, Bruce Pon, and Trent McConaghy. While Fetch.ai, Ocean Protocol Foundation, and SNET Foundation will retain their individual operations, they will engage in close collaboration within the $ASI tokenomic ecosystem and the Alliance’s operations.

Dr. Goertzel articulates the combined network’s ambitious commercial and research objectives: “Among our many commercial and research goals for this combined network to work is to launch a decentralized neural-symbolic AGI system with globally-superior capabilities in key areas like logical and scientific reasoning and artistic creativity,” he explains. The envisioned impact of this system is to surpass the advancements of significant LLMs and usher the global economy into a new era of beneficial decentralized AGI and ASI.
