Ukraine Postpones Second Reading of Gambling Bill Amidst Coronavirus

The 2nd reading of the gambling bill has been postponed again in the Ukrainian Parliament amidst COVID-19.

As per the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Minister of Parliaments were to instigate deliberation in the 2nd reading of the bill

“On state regulation of activities related to the organization and conduct of gambling.”

Nevertheless, the entire assembly concluded and the bill on ratification of offline and online gambling has not been examined.

It is to be noted that the contemplation of the draft law №2285-D was earlier planned to commence on 18th June. However, later the date was deferred to 19th June. Nonetheless, Ministers of Parliament of Ukraine did not even commence the reading of the bill due to dearth of time caused by indulgence in coronavirus measures.

Most probably, the 2nd reading of the gambling legalization bill will be deferred to the next week, which, as per the calendar of Ukranian parliamentary sessions, would start on 30th June.
