YouTube Suspends Official Account of Bitcoin.com, Says “Terminated in Error”

Recently, YouTube suspended the official channel of cryptocurrency news-focused website Bitcoin.com for “a violation of YouTube’s Terms of Service.”

At the time of reporting, the company’s account has been restored and can be watched on YouTube. As per YouTube, the crypto news channel was “terminated in error.”

According to Roger Ver, the executive chairman of Bitcoin.com, the video streaming platform informed them about the prohibition on 13th June. At the time it was suspended, the account had around forty thousand subscribers.

As per Ver, Bitcoin.com sent a plea to YouTube within a few hours. Subsequent to that, YouTube informed Bitcoin.com that their video channel had been restored.

Ver said that the event has impelled Bitcoin.com to turn to other platforms. He mentioned,

“This is an ongoing headache to deal with, and makes us even more eager to support censorship resistant platforms like memo.cash, and lbry.tv. I suspect probably a bunch of these Bitcoin Core anti-competition maximalists falsely reported the video saying ‘It’s a Bit[coin] Cash scam!’ or some nonsense like that.”
