Coming as the latest development in the cryptosphere, one thousand Bitcoins have recently moved for the 1st time since 2010. The BTC (worth over eleven million USD), would have been mined when Satoshi Nakamoto was still active in the virtual currency community. The owner of the moved cryptocurrency is still not known.
It is to be noted that the moved coins were sitting idle in wallets since they were mined in 2010. Remarkably, the coins are worth over eleven million USD, at the time of reporting. These coins were moved to a single address and the move was flagged by Kirill K, a professional digital asset trader, on LinkedIn.
The aforementioned coins were mined back in September 2010. At the time, BTC was less than 2 years old and worth less than ten cents per coin. Hans Hauge, the head of quant strategy at digital currency firm Ikigai Asset Management, wrote on LinkedIn that “old miners have to be careful about how they move so as to not spook the market.”
However, he added that eleven million USD wouldn’t certainly “move the needle much in either direction” when BTC worth billions of dollars moves around wallets every day.
