The CEO of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki, mentioned that she is looking for content creators to be able to take advantage of new technologies.
In an open letter about the video streaming platform’s priorities for this year, Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki mentioned that YouTube is contemplating offering non-fungible tokens as a way
“to help creators capitalize on emerging technologies including things like NFTs.”
Wojcicki further added that her team is looking ahead to the future and has been observing everything happening in Web 3 “as a source of inspiration to continue innovating on YouTube.”
“The past year in the world of crypto, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and even decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) has highlighted a previously unimaginable opportunity to grow the connection between creators and their fans.”
Recently, social media platform Twitter announced an official verification mechanism for non-fungible tokens profile pictures. This involves users linking their Ethereum wallet to the social media platform and using a non fungible token as a profile picture.
