Recently, Youtube banned the popular crypto channel, Crypto Crow. However, the channel got restored shortly thereafter. It is to be noted that the aforementioned account has around eighty one thousand subscribers.
Jason Appleton, the owner of the channel, mentioned in an April 8 tweet,
“Looks like my channel was terminated by YouTube without warning today. I’ve never so much as had a strike.”
He further added,
“No idea why my channel was hit with this. They really don’t tell you anything. I’m crushed right now. I’m stunned. I feel I’ve done everything properly.”
The crypto influencer observed an email from YouTube asserting someone reported him for a video he posted involving digital assets and taxes, as well as a previous email from the platform elucidating the elimination of one of his videos on BTC and capital gains taxation.
Interestingly, Appleton saw his account restored within a day. A follow-up Twitter post on the same day divulged YouTube had withdrawn the strike. On 9th April, he tweeted,
“My channel is back online. I’m shaking and crying like a baby.”
This is not the first time Youtube has put a strike on a crypto-focused channel. However, with the increasing revolt from the crypto community, Youtube is also gradually becoming pro-active in monitoring crypto channels and removing unnecessary strikes.
